Hello From the Pirate's Cove! "Almost everyone in the class wants to be something different when they grow up. It's so cool!" -Stevenson Third Grader October already??? We can't believe we have already spent a whole month with your children. What a wonderful month it has been! We decided to flash forward a couple of decades to see what our Third Grade Dreamers want to be when they grow up. An Olympic swimmer, a singer, business CEO and President of the United States just to name a few. Wow! The students were also delighted to discover what their teachers wanted to be back when they were in third grade (a jockey and a mailman). This week we mailed our friendly letters to our penpals at the Scouter Mountain School in Happy Valley, Oregon. In the letters, students included details about themselves, described where they live, and asked some questions for their penpals to answer. Each student also enclosed a photo or herself from the first day of school. The building phase of our Community Project is officially underway. In groups of five, students are building their own unique communities...all out of recycled materials! It is a joy to watch your children interact with each other to bring ideas from their imaginations to life. What bright futures these third graders have. Your children are wonderful!! Warmly, Nina and John | Memory Joggers!
