What a talented group we have in Grade 3! We are anxiously awaiting the Holiday Performance. your children are poised and ready to take the stage. We'd also like to add that they have been very well behaved at Keck this week.
Highlights of the Week:
1) Check out the picture gallery for some pictures from our class's "Hour of Code" challenge that we did during National Computer Science week. Coding's popularity continues to grow in schools. Tech gurus around the world routinely discuss the benefits of coding, and how it can help build a technologically fluent student. Coding can be done at home as a preferred activity. Check out the link below.

2) Right and Wrong and Being Strong is a book that we have been reading in Grade 3. This book is filled with wisdom and lessons on 'Doing the Right Thing' and "listening to the angel, not the devil" in our conscience. Ask your child about Mr. Collett's story to the Bucknell Bookstore, and how he learned about stealing the hard way. (We also let the students know that all adults, especially parents and teachers, have a third eye that enables them to see when a child is lying. ((hehe)) So, it's ALWAYS better to come out with the truth!
3) Students are studying Biomimicry in Science. This is a fancy term for nature inspiring human technology. Ask your child what she and her groupmates are designing to mimic a natural phenomenon!
Keep reading those books at home!
Love,
John and Nina
